Family History | Fred Quinton was born c1873 in Newport, the son of tallow chandler George Quinton from Southampton and his wife Sarah from Fretham, Hants. In the 1881 census the family was found living at 16 Portland Street, Carisbrooke, with Fred being the youngest of the four children. The second youngest, Kate aged 11, was found in the 1891 census working as a photographic retoucher and living in the same household as the photographer George St John Biggs. | |
