Further Notes | A photographic artist Charles Carlisle age 32 from Windsor, Berks was listed as sole occupant of 121 High Street, Ryde in the 1891 census. He was recorded as an employer, but it is possible he was running the studio as a franchise of Billinghirst & Dovey. Charles Carlisle has not yet been found in the 1881 or 1901 census. Nobody is recorded as living at 121 High Street in the 1901 census, but there are two separate entries for that address in the 1881 census; a baker and a boot seller (though it is possible the properties may have been renumbered). |
